This Week

My crafting is going to be slow this month!

I'm mainly working on crochet projects this month. Craftyminx has a great school, so if you're interested, check it out. I will post my projects. I need to get some lighter shades of yarn so I can see my work.

We're having a Valentines Day card craft day this Saturday, so I'll take lots of pics.

We're remodeling the craft room with cabinets we bought at the Rebuilding Center.  We're estimating that the remodel will take most of February.

If  you live in Portland, I highly suggest you check them out before you buy anything for a home remodeling project. So wonderful! I bought a whole set of cabinets for $160.

We'll make the room more of a usable space, and I'm hoping we can free up some space to fit a small sleep chair for guests, or maybe a round table and chairs for the center.

Bottle Brush Trees

One of my very favorite vendors at Crafty Wonderland is  Magpie Ethel.  She's a Portland artist that uses vintage decor to create super cute and whimsical Christmas, Halloween and Birthday re-invention decorations.

One item of hers that made me give a hearty "I can do that" are her beautiful bottle brush trees. I figured that she bleached them and redyed them. I found a tutorial tonight that confirms my thought. Crafty Minx gives a complete tutorial complete with photos of her process.

Caution about this woman, her site is addictive and if you don't set a timer for yourself it can suck up more of your time than Farmville and Pinterest combined!

Happy early Christmas crafting!!
